MADE WITH HOMBYS

Pink Animal Friends by @raynie.day.friends

One playful pink color story brings three very different characters together. Maker @raynie.day.friends shared a long-legged flamingo, a winged pterodactyl, and a purple-plated stegosaurus across three original posts. Here, the trio is gathered into one project showcase.

Bright pink chenille gives each animal a fluffy finish, while pale wing panels, a contrasting beak, dangling legs, and purple back plates give them their own personalities.

Meet the Trio

  • Pink flamingo: an upright curved neck, a black-and-white hooked beak, expressive blue eyes, and long pale lavender-grey legs.
  • Pink pterodactyl: a pointed crest, long beak, pale pink wing panels, and rounded feet.
  • Pink stegosaurus: a rounded pink body, short legs, a long tail, and a row of purple plates.

The Maker’s Color Story

In the pterodactyl post, the maker said she had been looking for a reason to try the pattern and shared that HOMBYS had sent her the pink yarn. In the stegosaurus post, she specifically named HOMBYS Rose Red and described the piece as a custom make for a special girl.

The flamingo post identifies the same maker, but its accessible caption does not provide a pattern credit or an exact yarn shade. We have kept those details unassigned rather than extending the other posts’ credits to it.

Start with Pink & Rose Red

Our 8-skein Pink & Rose Red mixed pack combines 4 skeins of each shade, making it a coordinated starting palette for the trio. Rose Red is confirmed for the stegosaurus; the pack and other accent shades are shopping suggestions rather than a maker-confirmed kit.

Match embroidered eye details and pale wing accents to your chosen pattern. The original posts do not specify sizes or skein quantities, so the linked packs are purchase options, not a promise that one pack will complete all three toys. Follow each pattern for yarn, filling, and finishing supplies.

YARN PLANNING · REFERENCE ESTIMATE

How much yarn should I prepare?

Quantity status: needs the original pattern.

Shaped, stuffed, wrapped or multi-piece construction cannot be reliably converted from flat area. The original pattern must confirm dimensions, stitch density, piece count and yarn needed in each shade.

Yarn / color group Whole-skein planning budget
4 Pink+4 Rose Red Pattern-specific quantity required
purple Pattern-specific quantity required
Light Purple Pattern-specific quantity required
Pure White Pattern-specific quantity required
black Pattern-specific quantity required

Use the original pattern’s yarn weight or yardage for each color, then divide by the yarn length / weight on the product label and round up. Do not assume an 8-skein pack will make every item in a group photo.

Before buying: swatch in the intended stitch, measure the finished swatch and yarn used, then scale to your chosen size. The reference size above is an assumption unless marked maker-reported. These figures do not establish the original finished size or actual yarn used.
